GD6000 Overview
The 2009 General Dynamics Itronix GD6000 vehicle rugged computer provides exceptional performance equal to the best standard commercial notebooks and yet provides durability levels expected with military grade fully rugged equipment. Designed specifically for vehicle deployments the GD6000 provides vibration, temperature, dust ingress and humidity ratings that are found in fully rugged notebooks. This unit is unmatched in versatility and ruggedness for vehicle installation; superior ruggedness combines with the best sunlight readable display and highest performance to create a highly optimised vehicle deployed notebook. We believe the GD6000 is the only notebook built for this specific purpose.
The GD6000 meets most of the fully rugged MIL-STD-810F standards for temperature range, vibration resistance, dust ingress protection and humidity. It can also survive punishing 30” drops and comes standard with a spill-resistant keyboard (with a published 400 ml 10-minute soak spill test), dual integrated task lights and the industry’s best 13.3” outdoor viewable Touchscreen display featuring innovative, patent-pending DynaVue™ display technology. And it has options for embedded GPS, WLAN, WWAN, fingerprint reader, express cards, smartcard reader, and a full function vehicle dock.
Rugged Durability Security INTEGRATED GPS! The optional high performance integrated GPS module is positioned on the upper edge of the display housing for optimum performance and satellite access within 2.5m or better accuracy. The GD6000’s quadra-helix antenna provides faster, more reliable and more accurate fixes than dipole or patch antennas found in competitor products. Additionally, high sensitivity SiRF III firmware and software load provides lower acquisition and tracking thresholds to improve performance. Quite simply, this is the best performing GPS in the ruggedised notebook market.
