Understanding Field Mobility Software
Field mobility software is a complex sounding phrase that actually refers to something quite common in everyday life. It’s a class of software that governs innumerable decisions made every day by millions of persons when commuting, making deliveries, traveling to appointments, and in general conducting commerce whenever the commerce requires travel.
Perhaps the most common example of this software is the global positioning satellites system, or GPS. GPS uses a minimum of three satellites to position any object in 3D space on Earth or above it. It can be used not only to guide drivers of vehicles and pilots of planes, but can even be used to automatically drive vehicles and fly planes, as Google’s recent experiments with driverless cars in Nevada are proving to be true.
Field mobility software is quite an exciting field, with numerous developments happening every year. This kind of software doesn’t just compute the fastest route in idealised conditions; it can also compute the fastest route in real time conditions that include bad weather and traffic accidents. In this manner, such software saves drivers from innumerable mistakes due to misread maps and other human error, allowing more people to arrive on time and to make real time adjustments to their driving schedules without going crazy.
Many modern drivers don’t even know how to read a map, or know how to get to some of their most common destinations without the security of the GPS system reminding them of upcoming turns, just as many cell phone users don’t remember phone numbers anymore.
